The facility
Hausvik Pilot is a research and development facility where we optimize our technology for land-based salmon farming. The facility is operated in collaboration with Ocean Farm Holding AS, which, among other things, operates a successful wrasse farm.
The facility consists of a 150 m3 fish farming tanks based on EFC's mRAS technology, as well as two smaller tanks for specific technology trials.
The purpose of the facility is test production to collect data, further develop control and monitoring systems, and verify various processes, including for the extraction of CO.2.
Production
The first production cycle was a great success:
- 10 tonnes of salmon produced
- 1.6 % operational mortality
- 160 g -> 4 kg in 9 months
- 95 % superior HOG sold in the market
