From plan to operation – A result of targeted work

December 19, 2025

We have now reached an important milestone at Hausvik: 70,000 post-smolts are in place in our modular RAS facility, EFC mRAS.

The deployment was carried out over three days, from December 1 to 4. After deployment, we have observed good appetite in the fish and very low mortality – which provides a solid basis for further production and optimization of operations and technology.

The plant is controlled by our proprietary SCADA system, EFC Control, which provides full overview and operational control of key processes and operating parameters. The solution is designed for stable and predictable operation on a commercial scale, setting a new standard for modular, land-based RAS plants.

With EFC Control and our modular EFC mRAS technology, we have established a scalable system concept with low CAPEX and high operational value, adapted for efficient implementation in upcoming land-based RAS projects.

The development of EFC mRAS and EFC Control has been characterized by thorough engineering and conscious, effective choices, which have resulted in a technologically mature and scalable system concept.

With the plant now in operational operation, the project moves from an intensive design and construction phase to a phase characterized by continuous production and manufacturing. Going forward, the focus will be on ensuring stable and efficient operation, while the experiences we gain will be actively used for optimization and further development of both EFC mRAS and EFC Control.

We would like to thank our partners at Hellesund Fiskeoppdrett and Ocean Farm Holding, and Innovation Norway for a very good and constructive collaboration in connection with the implementation and start-up of the operational phase.
